What injuries have you had in the past? I have had some issues with shin splints throughout my career.
How do you feel about your injury mentally? While I have never had a serious injury, trying to practice through pain was a very exhausting process.
What's your recovery plan? I started using the LightSpeed Lift for every single run that was not fast on the track. I was able to have a lot more pain free runs, while staying in shape and letting my shin heal.
How has LightSpeed Lift been incorporated into your training and recovery plan? I now use LightSpeed Lift as a way to prevent injury by using it once or twice a week and on my doubles.
What do you love best about the LightSpeed Lift? I love that the design does not interfere with my running form and it is super user friendly!
How long have you been using the LightSpeed Lift? I have been using it consistently since my junior year of high school. So about five years!
What benefits do you see physically and mentally from using LightSpeed Lift? I love using the LightSpeed Lift because I am able to maintain a higher volume without the same risk of injury. It helps me recover better than a normal run which has made the physical and mental training load each week a lot easier!
Which LightSpeed Lift system do you use? LSX-500 at home and NB HQ in Boston, MA.

"I have used the LightSpeed Lift system for over a decade as both a World Certified running Coach and former Olympian, and it remains one of the most valuable training and rehabilitation tools I have ever incorporated into my programs. The versatility of the system is remarkable. Whether the goal is to safely increase running speed or training volume, reduce impact forces during training, facilitate injury rehabilitation, or simply keep athletes healthy throughout a demanding season, LightSpeed Lift consistently delivers. The ability to precisely reduce body weight allows athletes to train with less stress on their musculoskeletal system while maintaining natural running mechanics. What sets this system apart is how seamless it feels. The ride is smooth, comfortable, and remarkably natural. Athletes can quickly transition between full body-weight running and supported running, making it practical for daily use. Installation is straightforward, it fits well around both home and commercial treadmills, and maintenance requirements are minimal. As a coach, I am always looking for innovative methods that improve performance while reducing injury risk. LightSpeed Lift is one of those rare products that has stood the test of time. It has been a consistent part of my coaching toolbox for athletes of all ages and abilities, including elite performers. As the mother of a world-class athlete, I have also seen firsthand how valuable it can be in supporting long-term athletic development, performance, and recovery. In my opinion, LightSpeed Lift is one of the greatest innovations in endurance and speed training, yet it remains an underutilized resource among coaches. Its impact on athlete performance, recovery, and longevity cannot be overstated. For more than a decade, it has helped my athletes train smarter, stay healthier, and achieve results that would have been difficult to attain through traditional methods alone." - Breda Dennehy-Willis, Irish Long-Distance Olympian
“Eight years ago, when I delivered a LightSpeed system to Roisin’s mother, Breeda Willis, she mentioned she would use it for her 12-year-old daughter who “showed potential.” I remember thinking at the time “sure” many parents feel that way about their children, but Roisin has proven to be exceptional. As she rose to prominence in her mid-teens, Breeda told me that a major factor in Roisin’s success was using LightSpeed for a significant portion of her training to keep her legs fresh and fast. Her use of the system continued at Stanford, and now the New Balance facility in Boston has a LightSpeed Lift being used by Roisin and her teammates. Throughout her career, Roisin has maintained a focused, positive, and humble approach. Knowing her is a gift.” - Malcolm Macaulay, LightSpeed Lift Founder
"As a proud native of Madison, with deep ties to Wisconsin's rich track & field history, it's been a joy to follow Roisin's career since her days at SPASH! Roisin will undoubtedly be one of the all-time greats hailing from the Badger state. Achievements aside, Roisin is a delightful & humble young woman. I admire Roisin's willingness to share her journey, making her a remarkable role model for our next generation of track and field athletes." - Molly Watcke, LightSpeed Lift Sales & Marketing
